There was no surprise when 61th rankedA.Kraukla/VEF (2-6) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Sigulda (5-3) 85-77 on Friday. Sigulda started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-11 . But A.Kraukla/VEF won third quarter 27-15 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sigulda made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Sigulda outrebounded A.Kraukla/VEF 57-31 including a 25-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Martins Livmanis who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Gustavs Stuklis helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Sigulda players scored in double figures. Arvids Aizups responded with 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Oskars Balodis scored 17 points and 4 steals. A.Kraukla/VEF's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sigulda moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser A.Kraukla/VEF dropped to the 50th position with six games lost.
